VACATION SECURITY
Taking a vacation is something we all look forward to with great anticipation. We do research for our travel options and places to stay. We plan our itinerary and activities, and we often buy our tickets and other items in advanced so we are prepared to have a great time.
It is imperative that we plan ahead so that our trip is both fun and safe. Is everyone in our party fully aware of your itinerary? Does everyone have a working cell phone? Are your hotels located in safe areas of the community? Are you planning on taking your firearms and other personal defense tools with you? Are you aware of the local laws in your destination? Is your permit to carry valid in the states you’ll be travelling through? What are you allowed to take on an airline flight?
There are many things you can do to ensure your trip is safe and hassle-free. The NRA has published an article by Sheriff Jim Wilson that provides a number of valuable suggestions. I highly recommend you take advantage of what he has to offer prior to your next trip. Just as with home-defense, vacation security requires some prior planning. Sheriff Jim Wilson offers some ideas to get you started. Reference guide:
