WHATS IN THE NEWS
AIMPOINT T-2
As the go-to sight I recommend for your defensive rifles, the Aimpoint T-1 is still the best even after having been released 7 years ago. This past June, Aimpoint announced a newly designed sight, the Micro T-2 which will be sold along side the T-1. It should start shipping this month.
Just like the Terminator movies, the T-1 is great, but the T-2 is even better. So what makes it better you ask? Well, the new design incorporates a number of improvements:
- Newly designed front lens with enhanced optical performance plus a new reflective coating that noticeably improves image clarity
- A new housing that is more ruggedized to protect the internal electronic and optical components
- The new housing has physical protection for the adjustment turrets
- Integrated lens caps (yeah, you can remove them)
The Micro T-2 has a 2 MOA red dot. It will be compatible with all existing mounts that fit the Micro T-1. The sight is compatible with all generations of night vision devices and can be used in conjunction with the Aimpoint magnifiers. The Micro T-2 can operate for up to five years of constant-on use, using a CR-2032 battery, and is waterproof to 25 meters.
Instead of merely making improvements to an existing product, our development group started with a completely new design” said Brian Lisankie, President of Aimpoint Inc. “in terms of the optical components, the Micro T-2 takes the level of performance available from a compact sight to an entirely new level. It also provides features and performance formerly available only in much larger optics.
I’m looking forward to testing one at the range. Now, you may have noticed where they mounted the sight on the rifles in the preceding photos. Rest assured we will mount ours as far forward as our rail system will allow. When we get our hands on one, we’ll let you know if the new Aimpoint Micro T-2 is worthy of the hype. I don’t expect to be disappointed 🙂

MOB ATTACKS CONTINUE
Just a few short weeks after a mob of teenagers attacked the patrons and employees of a Memphis Kroger store, another group of teens go on the rampage. They attacked Sharon Mourning and her daughter in their car, went after a man in another car, beat an elderly man and another teen before the police were able to respond. Ms. Mourning was not armed, but now she wishes she had been!
