The 21st Annual Rangemaster Tactical Conference. It is a gathering of many of the best and brightest personal defense trainers in the country. It is the best opportunity to take part in training blocks that include Mindset, Tactics, Skills, and Equipment all in one location. This year One Defense partnered with QSI Training to present “Making the First Shot Count”. The goal of this live fire block of training included safe and effective draw, understanding the relationship between draw and first shot, how proper presentation is necessary for an accurate first shot, and how to safely re-holster. From Tom Givens, “The block was very well received by the attendees. I heard nothing but glowing reports”. We were honored to have the privilege of being part of a group of many talented and exceptional trainers. We also worked with John Farnam to present “Domestic Defensive Handgunning”. The primary focus was to understand how to effectively be deselected and disengage from a potential VCA and if all else fails, use our firearm to end the fight.
In addition to presenting, I had the opportunity to participate in a number of other training blocks which will enable me to share new information with my students. Sessions such as “Empty-Hand Skills for Gunfighters” by Greg Ellifritz, “The Five W’s of Risk” by William Aprill, “Saps and Jacks” by Larry Lindenman, and “Correcting Common Shooting Errors” by Karl Rehn were just a sampling of the many in which I participated. Watch Empty-Hand Skills for Gunfighters. Of particular interest was the block hosted by Tiffany Johnson and Aqil Qadir entitled “The Changing Face of the Industry”. In this session we learned many valuable tips in how to reach out beyond the usual demographic and connect with a more diverse audience to get them involved in the pro-gun community. This is something we all need to improve!

June 8-9 – Armed Response to a Terrorist Attack including Force on Force
Since 9/11 there have been more than 70 islamic jihadist attacks and a number of active killer incidents have occurred in the same time-frame. This advanced course teaches much more than the fundamentals of move and shoot, it teaches effective tactics and demands precision shooting in order to end the attack without shooting innocent bystanders. This is an advanced course for individuals that have attended the appropriate defensive handgun and defensive rifle courses.
To attend this course, you must meet the prerequisite requirements to be able to attend. Please contact me to determine if you are eligible.
AGENDA
Saturday will begin with an evaluation of your skills. You will be expected to demonstrate safe gun handling as well as the mechanical and verbal skills that are part of the Farnam Method.

Scenarios: Vehicle attack, Mall, Theater, School, Restaurant, Low Light
Day Two – Force on Force:
Scenarios: Knife attack, Mass Murderer, Bus, Carjacking, Suicide bomber, LEO encounters
